This is two devices in one: A digital fundamental restoration system and an audiophile- quality phase-coherent, 90Hz electronic crossover.
Digital bass restoration. Essentially, this circuit will add low bass frequencies that are one octave lower than the source signal (i.e. feed it a 70Hz signal, and it will output the original 70Hz, plus a nice 35Hz rumble). Since the added signal is exactly one octave lower, it adds some nice thump to your system without ruining the musicality. If you have subwoofer with low bass extension, this is ideal for showing off your system's capabilities. The level of this effect can be fine-tuned with the large knob on the front of the unit.
Combining the crossover and digital restoration circuit, you can feed full-range front speaker signals to the PCA, split out the low bass for your subs, and add some 'punch' at the same time.
