Bronze B2

The new B2, like its redoubtable predecessor, is 2-way design intended for stand or shelf mounting. Its 6.5-inch MMP® Mk2 bass-mid driver is unique to it and designed to deliver punchy, powerful bass and transparent mid-range right up to the crossover point with the tweeter at 2.8KHz. Special figure eight internal bracing gives very rigid construction, helping the B2 to achieve a clean, un-boxy sound reminiscent of high end speakers using very, heavy or high-tech construction techniques. The front-ported design makes positioning less critical than with many rivals speakers.

The Bronze B2 can be placed close to a rear wall without the bass becoming boomy - a big advantage in smaller rooms.

The new Bronze Centre is the vital aesthetic and sonic link in any Bronze-based home cinema or multi-channel music system, bringing extra solidity, depth and realism to the front soundstage, especially with dialogue. Recognising that the centre is often the hardest working speaker in an A/V system, the new Bronze Centre has been designed with two 5.5-inch MMP® Mk2 bass-mid drivers that hand over to the C-CAM® tweeter at 2.6KHz. A special crossover network ensures the Bronze Centre has excellent vertical and horizontal off axis frequency response, eliminating the need for a 'hot seat' listening position and integrating smoothly with the Bronze B1, B2 or B4 in a home theatre set-up. An easy amplifier load, the new Bronze Centre will get the best from even lower powered A/V amplifiers (receivers). It can be driven to respectable levels with a modest 20 Watts.

Bronze BFX

Designed as part of the new Bronze home theatre system, the BFX surround speaker combines amazing performance with modern, discreet design that can be flush mounted on a wall. The attractive curved grille and end caps conceal a rigid angular cabinet construction and Monitor Audio’s renowned and highly acclaimed MMP II driver technology.

Made from MDF, each sealed enclosure houses two tweeters and one 5” bass/midrange driver. The single MMP II, bass mid-range driver provides identical characteristics to all of the bronze series loudspeakers giving consistent, balanced sound character. The C-CAM gold dome tweeters are also taken directly from the bronze series and feature extended high frequency response and smooth tonal balance.

By using low slope linear phase crossover design, Monitor Audio has engineered the Bronze BFX to have seamless integration and almost perfect 180-degree dispersion characteristics. This minimizes the ‘beaming’ effects, which are particularly undesirable in surround applications. Whilst the bass driver always operates in phase, the tweeter section can be configured to operate as a bi-pole or di-pole, which means the bronze BFX can just as easily be used on side walls in a more advanced 7.1 system.

The versatility of the design adapts to any multi-channel system requirement. Side wall mounted as a di-pole speaker, Bronze BFX can provide a smooth spread of high frequency information while, at the same time, creating the reverse phase zone effect required by a side wall speaker in a 7.1 or 5.1 installation in a large room

The angled enclosure is constructed from MDF and finished in high quality vinyl finish. The grille is made from an un-breakable perforated polymer and covered with acoustically transparent cloth. The bowed shape of the grille is achieved by locating it in grooves machined into the top/bottom caps. The Bronze BFX can be mounted flush to the wall by means of ‘keyhole’ type picture hooks.
